Death by a thousand cuts

A relatively slow start this morning, the clouds are low, and we are quite comfortable.

Our walk started fine through the mist into the forest

We were a little annoyed at the bracken it was across the path and soaking wet, but little did we know…

As we got to the top, there was a house, and the goats that lived there came out to say hello. There was also a missile on a post with a hidden compartment. (See the picture)

The top

This is where it went wrong. Clearly, no one had been using the second part of the route. We spent about two hours pushing through the undergrowth where there was a vage suggestion of a path. Legs look like extremely enthusiastic kittens have been climbing them.

Like this all the way down.

Less said about this bit, the better.

This evening, we moved north to Loiola, where the Jesuit movement was founded.

Tomorrow, we explore.
