We did not plan to visit or stay here but turned out to be a Saints day, so nothing is open. We have found show caves very near by so we are staying put and will visit them tomorrow.
Oñati it’s self is a small town nestled in the mountains with some significant history. Spains first university is here, and there is a monastery and other old buildings dating back to the 1500s.

It was a pleasant morning exploring the town and after lunch we went to a natural swimming pool. Someone at some point has put in some obstacles to the river this formed a small pool to freshen off in. It was cold water.

A short stroll back and an evening chilling by the van. We met a couple from the west midlands who have been out here for 6weeks.
Caves tomorrow.
