Breakfast was very good and we were soon off to our first adventure of the day. Snorkelling in the Mid Atlantic Ridge. In the gap between the north American plate and a small plate on Iceland.
2 degree water requires some preparation. Fleece body suites followed by dry suites gloves balaclava etc it took 20 mins to suit up

It was worth it. The water was super clear having been filtered through the volcanic rocks. The separation had made large canyons. We floated in the current for about 20 mins looking around.
After this we walked along the plate boundary looking out into the rift valley.

We had lunch and moved off to a village called Geysir which gave its name to the water eruptions.

It was snowing quite a lot now. From here on to a spectacular waterfall.

Created by to faults the creamy water is a result of melt from a glacier high up fed by the ice cap.
Thoroughly enjoyable day.
