An afternoon by Heathrow

Im waiting for Katie to come back on a flight I find a quiet park up an wait… looking at the map I see the Runnymede Air Forces Memorial. Its 200m from me so I pop to look

A tranquil spot looking over Heathrow the memorial remembers the 20000 casualties of the air forces during the second World War.

Runnymede…. why do I know that place name.

With the light faiding I have a wander to see what else I can find.

As I wondered in through the woods I found “American acre” it is a one-acre plot of land that was gifted to the United States by the British people in memory of President John F. Kennedy.

I came out of the woods to see a number of sculptures.

As I arrived at the car park it was obvious why Runnymede sounded familiar. The Magna Carta …

I continued my walk finding a monument marking the formation of the American Bar Association.

And another sculpture. In the dark it was difficult to see here’s the national trust site.
