Off the Wild Atlantic Way

We headed inland today to explore the Glenveagh National Park. As we headed to the mountains, we went over a pass.

Our first stop was at a railway that had a bus on rails when it was built in the late 1800 it cut the journey from 1 day to 1 hour.

Errigal 751m rising from the valley at 220m it was a short walk but a huge amount of vertical assent. Up and along a quartzite ridge.

We had a look around the visitor centre and then headed back to the UK. We are going to explore the Sperrin Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Tonight’s park up is at Moor Lough, a kettle hole lake. This is a new term to me see the sign.
